The Jounin Exams
Here is the guide for the Jounin exams. The jounin exams are similar to that of the chuunin exams, just much harder and more deadly. Of course, there are requirements to enter the exams in the first place.
The first and foremost requirement is the rank of Chuunin. That basically means you need to have passed the chuunin exams to even be considered for the jounin exams.
Now since Chuunin can perform B-Rank missions, those missions are also in the mission minimum requirements. They are:
D: 32
C: 17
B: 5
A: 0
S: 0
Now these are only the minimum requirements, so that means that if you have more than this, you can still enter, and you have more of a chance of your Kage letting you in as well.
Now that we are on that subject, yes, you need your Kage's approval to enter the jounin exams. Like the chuunin exams, they also last two weeks and occur every two weeks.
Now, if you are in a chuunin squad with a jounin/kage sensei still by your side, it doesn't matter if he/she approves of your entering in the exams for since you are chuunin, you can approach and ask for direct opinion from the Kage you serve under.
Also like the chuunin exams, you must be in a three-man squad to enter, for it is still a dangerous exam.
Once you have received the PM from your Kage saying you have been granted permission to enter these exams, you have to wait until the next Jounin exam comes up and then you need to apply to room 1408 in the jounin examination building in Suna, yes, these exams take place in the sand village.
Now once you have gotten your application through on time, your team will be split up, along with all of the other teams, and you will be placed in separate rooms in groups of three like you entered, only your new companions will not be your teammates. You would be terribly lucky to draw one of your teammates in with you, but you are most likely to be put in with two total strangers. This is to test your ability to work with others off of the bat because you will be presented with a very difficult test question and manage to answer it as a team, so separate answers will get you no where. All three of you have to agree on the answer and I will make sure of this through PMing each of your team to confirm it, just to make sure.
This test will last three days, though it should only be two hours, being an RPG forum, that's too fast.
Now, if you and your temp team pass the first exam, you will be taken to the second exam which is a five-day desert race. The wonderful heaven and earth scrolls will once again be a part of this race and with the chuunin exams, you don't know which one you'll get until you get it. Also, all of the remaining contestants from the first round will once again be shuffled up into pairs, and who ever you land is your partner for the race. If there is one left over, he/she will be put on a pair of his/her choice.
Now, as I've already mentioned, this is a five-day race, so that means the test will take five days. Being in the desert, you will have to take your own packed food with you for there is a small chance you will be able to 'live off the wildlife' being there barely is any.
My advice is to travel by the registered nights and sleep in daylight because night is much cooler than day and thus it is more accustomed to get around.
In the desert you can become victim to being lost, dehydration, starvation, and other ninja's blades in the fight for your scroll.
If you finish the second exam and have both scrolls once you reach the finish line, which is near the river country border, you can then advance onto the prelims if 20 or more advance or the main battles if less than 20 advance. The battles work in the exact same way as the chuunin, so basically the fight ends when either one forfeits or can no longer fight. Here is an example to if 10 make the main round:
1st Round:
1 + 2 = 2
3 + 4 = 3
5 + 6 = 6
7 + 8 = 8
9 + 10 = 9
2nd Round:
2 + 3 = 2
6 + 8 = 8
9
Semi-Finals:
8 + 9 = 9
2
Finals:
2 + 9 = 9
9 Wins the tournament.
The winner of the tournament isn't automatically granted jounin/special jounin, as it may seem, but actually the 2-5 Kage judging will decide who graduates and who doesn't. There are times when everyone will graduate from the third exam into jounin/special jounin and there are times where no one does, though this isn't usually the case.
You see, because the judging Kage have the power, if you are too good to stay a chuunin in their eyes and not good enough to be jounin, you will be appointed the in between rank of special jounin, giving you access to A/B Rank missions. Most ninja do strive to graduate as jounin though.
When you are a jounin, you are required to take one of the next graduating teams from the academy and you will break away from your team. If you are the only jounin graduate from your team, though, you will be replaced on the team by another chuunin.
I hope this helps your passage through the jounin exams! |
