Clothing
The Hidden Villages in the world of Naruto each have their own unique variations on the ninja uniform. The basic uniform consists off a flak jacket which holds scrolls, a pouch attached to the thigh that holds kunai and shuriken and a back pouch that contains more kunai, shuriken, exploding notes or caltrops.
Cloud:
The basic Chuunin and Jounin uniform of Hidden Cloud has a variation on the typical uniform. The jacket is sashed across the beltline and it extends past the waist. There is also one scroll pouch, located over the left breast.
Leaf:
The basic Chuunin and Jounin uniform of Hidden Leaf utilizes all the common features of the ninja outfit. It has front scroll patches on right and left breast and has a zipper up the middle. The back also bears the red swirl insignia.

Chuunin Exam Proctor:
The Chuunin and Special Jounin proctoring the Chuunin Exam in Hidden Leaf wear these simple outfits. The button down shirts and dress pants highlight the official nature of the proceedings.
Konoha Military Police Corps:
The basic outfit of an officer in the Konoha Military Police Corps resembles the ninja outfit on a normal Konoha Chuunin or Jounin. However, instead of bearing the swirl on the upper arm, it bears the patch of the Corps.
Medical Ninja:
The Konoha medical ninja wears off-white robed clothing. These simple tunics highlight their focus as healers first, eliminating the extraneous pouches and pockets found on most ninja clothing.
Mist:
The basic Chuunin and Jounin uniform of Hidden Mist resembles the typical uniform. Like some variations, the front lacks scroll pouches found on some flak jackets and the jacket lacks a zipper. Also the shoulders bear the symbol of Hidden Mist Village.
Mist Hunter-Nin:
Mist Hunter-Nin outfits can vary, the normal theme across all outfits is a light jumpsuit allowing good manuverability, pouches for weapons to quickly dispose of their prey and the mask to help hide their identity.
Rain:
The basic Chuunin and Jounin uniform of Hidden Rain resembles the base form of most flak jackets, providing protection to the chest and neck. The jacket does not appear to bear any pockets.
Rock:
The basic Chuunin and Jounin uniform of Hidden Rock is very simple in nature. Like a few variations, the front lacks scroll pouches found on some flak jackets and the jacket also lacks a zipper. The Rock also wear a black undershirt that often will lack a sleeve on one side, though variations will have both sleeves.
Rock Recon Soldier:
A Hidden Rock recon soldier will wear a loose tunic that will sometimes lack a sleeve. The recon soldier can also carry a katana on their back.
Sand:
The basic Chuunin and Jounin uniform of Hidden Sand utilizes all the common features of the ninja outfit. It and the undersuit are tan and brown in color to better blend with the native sand color. It has front scroll patches on right and left lower breast and has a zipper up the middle. Also unique to their jacket are the protective pads which extend off the shoulder. Variations of the jacket will remove these features, such as the shoulder pads and pockets.
Formal:
The common formal robe worn by village advisors and administrators utilizes a long robe and a head scarf to help protect the wearer from the blistering sand.
Sound:
The basic Chuunin and Jounin uniform of Hidden Sound uses a variation of the basic jacket. The jacket lacks the scroll pouches of Sand and Leaf, but has one pouch on the lower right chest.

The ninja who watch over the numerous inmates and test subjects in Orochimaru's compounds wear a standard uniform, which features a split zippered shirt and dark pants.

The basic Chuunin and Jounin uniform of Hidden Waterfall is very simple in nature. Like a few variations, the front lacks scroll pouches found on some flak jackets. Variations of the the jacket can also lack a zipper, shoulder pads and neck guard.
Tools & Equipment
In addition to the weapon a ninja carries into battle, they will also carry items which may help them escape from traps or protect and heal themselves.
Breath Mask:
Ninja from Hidden Rain sometimes wear a breath mask for their missions. The mask allows the ninja to breathe underwater and in harsh air conditions.
Chakra Control Device:
This device developed in the Snow Country, can be used to suck out the chakra of a captured enemy combatant. This will prevent them from using chakra to create jutsu. The device also creates an impenetrable wall around the prisoner, preventing them from removing the device.
File:
A file is normally hidden within the clothing of the ninja, if captured, the file can be withdrawn from its secret location to file and cut through metal.
Hunter Disposal Kit:
Hunter ninja will track down and kill any ninja who commit crimes and flee their village. After kiling the criminal, they will dispose of the body to prevent any of the village's secrets from falling into enemy hands.
Mirror:
When the ninja wants to avoid putting themself directly in the possible line of attack, they can use the mirror to peak around corners to ensure the path is clear.
Radio:
The short range radio is capable of keeping ninja in contact across several miles. The radio can accept multiple frequencies and is activated to talk by pushing a button on the neck attachment.
Range Finder:
The range finder can function both as binoculars and as a means to measure the distance to a target.
Scrolls:
Scrolls remain one of the most important pieces of equipment in a ninja's arsenal. Because of their size, multiple scrolls can be carried into battle in the front pouches of a flak jacket or in a pouch. This will save space and not sacrifice a much needed piece of equipment which may be required later. The scroll allows the ninja to summon creatures, people and items to their aid.
Wire:
Wire can be used in several situations. It can allow the ninja to create trip wire explosive traps, it can be used in rappeling, or as a method to tie down and restrict the movement of an opponent.
Weapons
An additional aid in a ninjas' arsenal are the weapons they carry into battle. The normal weapon of a ninja consists of shuriken and kunai they carry in holsters on their body. In addition a ninja can utilize strength boosting pills to aid in battle or unique weapons they can use with exceptional deadliness.
Concealed Mouth Ember:
When going into battle, a ninja may store a small combustible ember in their mouth. The ember must be bitten to be activated. The ninja can then spit the ember at a combustible substance to help ignite it.
Exploding Note:
The exploding note is a piece of parchment paper which has script on it that serves to faciltate its explosive properties. The ninja can attach the note to another object such as a kunai or log. When the note is set it begins a slow burn which results in a large explosion.
Exploding Pouch:
A variation on the exploding note, these small pouches can be attached to a target and then explode a few seconds later.
Exploding Smoke Grenade:
When the pin is pulled on this grenade, the result is a large explosion and the release of smoke. This allows the ninja to carry out their manuevers in secret.
Hero Water:
This special water from Hidden Waterfall allows a ninja to have a ten-fold increase in chakra for a short period of time. By drinking drops of the water, the ninja of the village could increase their fighting ability to compensate for their villages lack of a strong Kage leader. Unfortunately in exchange for the power, the water also eats away at your life.
HyourouGan (Soldier Provision Pills):
When the soldier pill is swallowed, it allows the ninja to fight for several days without rest. The pill is full of proteins and a special stimulant that momentarily increases the ninja's chakra.
Kunai:
This throwing knife is one of the common weapons of a ninja. It is often kept in a holster on the leg in a pouch attached to the belt.
The Kunai can be used in conjunction with explosive tags and other weapons to form deadly combos.
Makibishi:
This weapon is primarily used during escape, numerous makibishi are thrown on the ground and enemy soldiers will have a difficult time pursuing because the spiked metal can penetrate the sole of the shoe wear.
Senbon (Needle):
The senbon was first used by doctors in acupuncture, it was then adopted by ninja and Hunter-nins to hit points on the body to cause death, deaden limbs or cause their target to fall unconscious.
Skuriken:
Another common weapon, the shuriken is often kept in a holster on the leg or in a pouch attached to the belt.
Umbrella:
This weapon is used by Rain ninja. Worn on the back, the ninja can quickly open the umbrella and hurl it into the air. While spinning in the air, the umbrella can unleash a rain of needles upon the target.
Windmill Shuriken:
In its folded state, all four arms of the shuriken are folded together. When full unfolded the large shuriken can be thrown through the air causing great damage.
