Biography:
Being born into the sand’s legendary Kaneda clan, the start of Ryuu’s life was peaceful. When the girl was four (and Sachiko was 12), unknowingly at the time, she set her block set on fire. After a few more flamboyant incidents involving the child, the clan decided on the fact she was much to dangerous and locked her away so she couldn’t cause any harm to the clan.
At age 7, after three years of isolation, the girl was released so she could help the clan fight off the invading sound Shinobi, who seemed to be after her.
When she was pushed by her own father, Saburou, in front of her parents as a defence, she froze still when she saw her sister was the one leading the group of sound ninja’s attack on the Kaneda clan.
Frozen by fear, she just stood and watched as her sister destroyed her whole clan and slaughtered her parents right in front of her.
Already turned cold-hearted from the isolation, after breaking the spell of fear, Ryuu did not hesitate to unleash her very powerful kekkei genkai ability and managed to kill every one of the sound ninja except for one… Sachiko Kaneda, her sister, who fled the flaming ruin to leave her young sister to tears.
After this dramatic incident, Ryuu Kaneda then hardened her hard and emotional barrier meaning she has barely shown an emotion since. At age 8, she fled to the village hidden in the leaves for a leaf ninja found her unconscious in the forest. She then entered and graduated the Konohagakure ninja academy within five years, becoming a Genin at the age of 13 with teammates Daichi Miyamoto and Kameko Yamamoto.
Though she did enter the chuunin exams, Kameko pulled the team out at the first round for being caught cheating three times.
At age 16, she returned to Suna with the rank of Jounin and the 17th Kazekage granted her the first dual citizenship right before he died and Jurou took up position as 18th Kazekage.
When Ryuu turned 20, she and the young, eldest daughter of the Kazekage, Ketsueki, were good friends. Ketsueki was 11 at the time. Ryuu and Ketsueki used to talk about their past and things like that, but on Ketsueki's 15th birthday, when Ryuu was at the time 23, Ryuu fled the village to become a missing nin after murdering the 18th Kazekage.
She was unheard of until Ketsueki became the next Kazekage, then word finally spread to Suna that the last of the Kaneda clan has reopened the Akatsuki and they were after the Jinchuuriki like the first group. Furious, Ketsueki set out with her two siblings to find and capture Ryuu, only to find her travelling with the whole renewed Akatsuki group. The mission was then disbanded as the three returned to Suna disappointed. Ryuu is still the leader of the Akatsuki to this day and they are still after the Jinchuuriki, they just haven't been assigned their target by Ryuu yet.
Personality:
Kaneda Ryuu is shown as a distant character, a lot like Sabaku Gaara himself. She has had a difficult past and even if she never cared for her cruel clan, she still hates her older sister for killing them. Also, Kaneda Ryuu is confident in her Kekkei Genkai and is not afraid to harm or kill someone who threatens her.
